Professional Development Program

The Program

This program was developed by Walter Powers of Moore County Schools.

The NCPSMA Professional Maintenance Development Program is a volunteer program of improvement and professional growth for maintenance employees. This program has benefited Moore County in many way. First of all - it is a win/win situation for everyone involved. Moore County Schools has better trained employees. Employees must get training each year to have the required number of CEUs to continue in the program. Most of all the children are able to have a better learning environment because the employee is more qualified and provides better service. This program provides a $42.00 -$165.00 pay increase per month for employees. Employees are willing and want to attend in-service training. Cross training has been great. This provides help in other areas when needed. Most of all we have trained professionals that save the school system money. Any system that does not have a program is missing out on a wonderful way to save tax payers money and provide a better learning environment for the children.
