North Carolina Public School Maintenance Association
The Maintenance Beacon is the monthly publication of the North Carolina Public School Maintenance Association. It is distributed to members of the association who are affiliated with the public school systems, community and technical colleges in North Carolina as well as vendors of school maintenance supplies and services. Also on our mailing list are public school superintendents and maintenance directors.
Advertising in The Maintenance Beacon is the ideal medium for establishing and maintaining contact with those important customers in the North Carolina School Systems.
The Maintenance Beacon carries stories related to the affairs of the association and its membership, including personnel profiles, recognition of members who achieve special honors, human interest items and extensive technical information by Plant Operation and others with expertise on a wide range of subject matter. A calendar of events appears in each issue as well as an advertiser index.
Vendors will do well to note there is a section available devoted to new products and are encouraged to send stories containing photos and brief descriptions of new items and services. There are no charges for this service, however all stories will be used at the editor’s discretion and are subject to editing.
The advertising rate for The Maintenance Beacon is $110 per column inch for most ad sizes for 12 monthly issues. The minimum ad size is a 1x2 or 2x1 at a cost of $250. All other ad sizes will be $110 per column inch. We do not accept advertising for less than 12 months.
Advertisements submitted for publication in The Maintenance Beacon should be in the form of camera ready art, or computer generated files, suitable for reproduction. Photograph are generally printed using 133 line screens. Should there be type changes to the ad, we will attempt to match type as close as possible for which there will be a charge. For an exact match it will be necessary for the advertiser to provide completely new artwork at the expense of the advertiser. Artwork can be prepared through an advertising agency or in-house art departments.
Advertisements are sold in full column inch units. Vertical measurements are computed in linear inches. Horizontal measurements should be computed as follows:
One Column = 1 13/16 inches (11 picas)
Two Column = 3 7/8 inches (23p3 picas)
Three Column = 5 7/8 inches (35p3 picas)
Four Column = 7 15/16 inches (48p4picas)
Five Column = 10 inches (60 picas)
Full payment must accompany all advertising orders. Deadline for new advertising or changes is the first day of the month prior to the month of publication. Once an account has been established, advertisers will be notified of expiration date of contract. Advertisers are placed on our mailing list at no charge.
