A MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
Welcome to the 52nd Annual Eastern Conference
I would like to say thank you for being part of the Eastern Conference.
I would like to take this opportunity to say I am grateful for being able to serve another year as President of this wonderful association. We have had some ups and downs over the last few years however, I truly believe that we are on the right path to bringing this associate back to what it was and securing its future for all maintenance employees to be able to come and have the continuing education hours needed to hold their certifications as well as learn new things that can benefit them in their daily jobs, visit with vendors to learn about new products and services and enjoy the fellowship and learning from others in the same field.
I do want to say thank you to our state officers for their support through interaction and collaboration. All that is done by these officers is based upon the interests of you, our members. I would also like to a huge thank our Executive Director, Kristie Payne. It takes a great deal of time and work to put this conference together. Without her passion for this association, all the time and hard work she puts into this conference, and support of the officers and me, this conference would not be what it is today. You are a true blessing to work with.
It has been such a pleasure for me to be a part of this organization. I began my career with Wilson County the day after graduating high school and have been a member of this amazing association at that time. And now, as a retired member, I am grateful for the relationships I have made over these years with our members and vendors. Remember that you always have others within this association that have gone through what you are going through or may have come up within your district. Reaching out to colleagues for advice and collaboration can be your best resource. You are the backbone of school systems across the state. The dedication, hard work, long hours, and a true passion for what you do are what drives your success on a regular basis.
This association and its success continue to grow and become stronger because of YOU! Let us continue to move forward with a purposeful passion for what we do every day to ensure safe and secure schools across North Carolina.
Thank you all!
Sincerely,
Mark Letchworth, NCPSMA State President
Retired Director of Maintenance, Wilson County School District
